St Bernadette Catholic Primary School

School council

Our School Council was established a number of years ago to give pupils a greater opportunity to express their views on issues that affect them. This group is made up of one representative from each class who represent the opinions of other children in their year group. We meet every half term to discuss how our school can be improved for all members of our school community.

Discussions include:

  • Reviewing school policies including the Behaviour and Lunch Box Policy.
  • Fundraising through a variety of activities.

Organisation

  • Our Head boy and Head girl chair the meetings.
  • The Secretary to the School Council writes the minutes.
  • Reps are given the agenda to brainstorm their ideas in class.
  • They then feedback to a member of the Senior Leadership team.
