Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.

What is the Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support their disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

Why are schools given this money?
The government believes that the pupil premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

Who receives Pupil Premium funding?
The pupil premium was introduced in April 2011 and is allocated to schools to work with pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as ‘Ever 6 FSM’). Schools receive funding of £1320 per eligible child.
Schools also receive funding of £2300 per child for children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months, or who have previously been a looked after child (known as LAC or post-LAC).
We also receive funding of £300 for children of service personnel currently serving, or who have been serving for the past 4 years (known as ‘Ever 5 service children’).
