Pupil Premium & Other Government Grants

Back

What is the Pupil Premium?

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to schools so that they can support their disadvantaged pupils and close the attainment gap between them and their peers.

Why are schools given this money?

The government believes that the pupil premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

If you believe your child is eligible for pupil premium funding please contact Mrs Safarian via  office@stbernadetteschool.co.uk

PE and Sports Premium Funding

At our school, we are committed to ensuring that every child has access to high-quality sporting opportunities through the effective use of the PE and Sports Premium funding. We believe that physical education plays a vital role in supporting children’s health, wellbeing, confidence and teamwork skills, while also inspiring a lifelong love of being active.

We are proud to offer a strong and inclusive PE curriculum that develops fundamental skills, promotes positive attitudes towards fitness and encourages all pupils to achieve their personal best. Alongside high-quality PE lessons, children benefit from a wide range of enrichment opportunities including clubs, competitions, festivals and specialist coaching across a variety of sports.

Our commitment to sport extends beyond participation. We celebrate effort, teamwork and achievement, and we are proud of the success our pupils have experienced in competitive sporting events both within the local community and beyond. Through our Sports Premium provision, we aim to ensure that every child has the opportunity to develop confidence, resilience and enjoyment through sport and physical activity.
