St Bernadette pupils praying in church

Welcome

On behalf of everyone at St Bernadette Catholic Primary School, I am delighted to welcome you to our website. I hope it offers a meaningful insight into our mission and the core values that guide our diverse and vibrant community. Situated at the heart of St Bernadette Parish in Hillingdon, we are a two-form entry primary school and a proud member of the highly successful Diocese of Westminster Academy Trust (DoWAT).

We are a thriving and happy Catholic school where a rich and balanced curriculum underpins the development of all of our pupils. We place great importance on recognising and nurturing the unique talents of every child, equipping them with the skills and confidence to share their gifts with the world.

Religious Education sits at the core of our curriculum. We enable our pupils to develop their knowledge and understanding of Scripture, Catholic traditions and the teachings of the Church. Through engaging and reflective learning, children are encouraged to make links between faith and daily life, explore important moral and spiritual questions, and grow in respect, compassion and understanding of others. Central to this is a strong commitment to Catholic Social Teaching, which runs as a golden thread throughout the curriculum, shaping pupils’ understanding of responsibility, justice and service.

An excellent, well-rounded education for every child is a key priority. Our broad and engaging wider offer reflects a strong commitment to the arts and to sporting opportunities for all pupils.

At the centre of our ethos is high-quality pastoral care, ensuring that every child feels safe, valued and supported. We create and nurture a sense of belonging that enables pupils to grow in confidence, engage fully in their learning and thrive both academically and personally.

The strength of our school comes from our dedicated and experienced staff team, whose commitment ensures the very best outcomes and opportunities for all. Equal pride is taken in our pupils, whose hard work, resilience and positive attitudes enrich the life of the school each day.

Above all, it is our strong sense of community that makes our school so special. We have built close partnerships with parents, staff, and governors creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every child can flourish. Valuable support is also provided by the committed governing body, whose role in both challenging and supporting the school helps maintain high standards.

I look forward to welcoming you to our school. Please do not hesitate to contact the school office team to arrange a visit.
