Year 6

In Year 6, our exciting and engaging curriculum includes an in-depth study of the Second World War, which culminates in a memorable themed dress-up day. Our hands-on computing units give children the opportunity to become programmers where they design, code and test their own digital projects using micro:bits.

We immerse ourselves in high-quality texts such as Holes by Louis Sachar and Frankenstein by Mary Shelley, which inspire thoughtful discussion, creativity and a love of reading.

Pupils can also look forward to taking part in a wide range of curriculum-enhancing trips, including a residential experience and a visit to the Battle of Britain Bunker.

As the oldest pupils in the school, children take on increased responsibility and are given many opportunities to represent our school community with pride.

Most importantly, Year 6 prepares pupils for a confident and successful transition to secondary school.
