Behaviour at St Bernadette

Principles of our behaviour strategy at St Bernadette Catholic Primary School

  • To ensure that all members of our school community feel valued, respected and supported
  • To create a happy, safe and secure environment
  • To ensure that pupils take responsibility for their learning through their attitude to work
  • To ensure that each person is treated fairly and equally

At St. Bernadette School we want to make sure that children are happy and one way in which we can achieve this is to encourage positive behaviour. Positive behaviour is promoted through active development of pupils social emotional and behavioural skills. We have a zero tolerance approach to any form of bullying.

Attendance - Reporting absence

If your child is absent from school please telephone the school each day your child is absent giving the reason for absence by 8.45am

If we do not have contact from the  parent or carer then a call is made to all contacts we have for the child concerned in order to be able to communicate with the parent or carer.

In the event that we cannot make contact with the parent or carer then a home visit will be made. If we still cannot locate the whereabouts of the child and we have concerns then our safeguarding procedures will be followed.

REMEMBER:

  • Ensure that if your child is absent you call the school by 8.45am
  • It is imperative that we have at least three nominated contacts for each child.
  • It is parents responsibility to ensure we have up to date contact details and that school are able to make contact with registered contacts.
